Most vehicles land close to these figures. Every vehicle is priced separately, and condition is what moves the number. We confirm your total with you before any work starts.

Priced by length rather than by size class. How oxidized the gelcoat is decides whether you need the one-step or the two-step, and we will tell you honestly which one your boat actually needs.

A blue Cobalt boat on its trailer after a full detail, gelcoat deep and glossy

What's included

Hull wash and waterline stain removal
The brown or yellow band along the waterline is mineral and organic staining, and it comes off with the right dedicated product rather than scrubbing gelcoat thin.
Oxidation removal on gelcoat
Chalky, faded gelcoat is compounded back to gloss. This is the two-step service, and on a neglected hull it is a genuinely dramatic difference.
Marine wax and sealant
Protection built for constant UV and water, which is what keeps the gloss you just paid for from oxidizing straight back over one season.
Vinyl seating cleaned and treated
Cleaned, and mildew treated in the seams and stitching where it actually lives, then conditioned so the vinyl stays flexible instead of cracking.
Interior, cabin, and non-skid
Decks, storage lockers, helm, and cabin surfaces. Non-skid gets cleaned in a way that lifts embedded grime without destroying the texture that makes it non-skid.
Metal polishing
Stainless rails, cleats, and aluminum brought back and protected against pitting.

How it goes

The process

  1. We look at the boat

Length, condition, and how far the gelcoat has gone decide the service and the price. Send photos to start, but we quote properly in person.

  2. Wash and strip

Full wash, waterline treatment, and removal of old failed wax so we are working on gelcoat rather than on residue.

  3. Compound and polish

On a two-step, oxidation is cut back and then refined to gloss. On a one-step, a lighter combined pass where the gelcoat is still in good shape.

  4. Wax, interior, and metals

Marine wax or sealant on the hull, vinyl and interior surfaces handled, metals polished, then we walk it with you.

Questions about boat & marine detailing

How is boat detailing priced?

By the foot. A one-step wash and wax runs 15 to 20 per foot, a two-step with compounding 25 to 35, and a full vessel detail 35 to 60. Call or text with the length and we will get close over the phone.

Do you come to the marina?

Yes. Marinas, docks, driveways and storage yards on Canandaigua Lake, and across Monroe County. Interiors can be done wherever the boat is. For any exterior work, it needs to be on a trailer or out of the water.

Do I need the one-step or the two-step?

Rub the hull with a clean hand. Chalky white means the gelcoat is oxidized and you want the two-step. If it still has gloss, the one-step is enough, and we will tell you so rather than upsell you.

Can badly oxidized gelcoat be saved?

Usually, and it is often the most dramatic result we produce, because gelcoat is thick enough to give real material to work with. Very severe cases need more than one compounding pass, quoted after we see it.
